Dori Matam Haifa
Project Description:
The project connects Tirat Carmel and the western neighborhoods of Haifa to employment, commerce, leisure, and academic institutions areas. As part of the project, two extensions with a total length of approximately 10 kilometers will be added, featuring 30 smart stations. The grade separation at the Matam junction will enable continuous movement for the Metronit alongside the flow of private vehicles.
With the activation of the new lines, the entire network is expected to grow by 5–7 million passengers per year.
The project, valued at approximately 170 million shekels, includes the paving of a designated lane for the Metronit, the construction of six new platforms, cycling and walking paths, landscape development and new infrastructure, and the construction of a grade separation that will regulate private vehicle traffic and maintain a high and continuous speed for the Metronit on the busy route.
The connection will include the Sammy Ofer Stadium axis, Neot Peres, the Southern Approaches, and the Maale Carmel Medical Center.
